Susan Hamilton

Deputy Head Heritage Information And Business Service at Historic Environment Scotland

Susan Hamilton has a diverse work experience in the heritage and data management fields. Susan started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Sydney in 2006. In 2008, they joined RCAHMS, where they held multiple roles, including Data Upgrade & Liaison Officer and External Liaison Project Manager. In these roles, they collaborated with stakeholders to improve data provision and exchange in the heritage sector. Since 2015, Susan has been working at Historic Environment Scotland as the Deputy Head of Heritage Information and Business Service, responsible for managing and developing heritage data provisions. Susan has also served as the External Liaison Project Manager, maintaining relationships with museums and land managers.

Susan Hamilton obtained a Master's degree in Museum Studies from the University of Sydney from 2004 to 2005. Prior to that, they pursued an undergraduate degree in Archaeology, specializing in a field of study known as MA, from The University of Edinburgh, completing it from 1996 to 2000.
