Fabiola Louis

Research Associate at HistoWiz

Fabiola Louis is a Research Associate at TheirtoWiz. Fabiola previously worked as a Research Assistant at Hunter College, where they conducted electrophoresis, PCR, QPCR on samples and conducted enzymes’ restriction. Fabiola also used the Nextera transposome to tagment gDNA and amplified tagmented DNA using a limited cycle PCR program. In addition, they used AMPure XP beads to purify the llibrary DNA and provided a size selection step removing short library fragments. Fabiola also normalized the quantity of different libraries to ensure more equal library representation in different pooled samples. Prior to that, they worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the Center for Study of Gene Structure and Function at Hunter, where they performed routine laboratory procedures such as preparation of media and basic preparation of slides and smears. Fabiola also conducted technical routine laboratory tests and procedures under the direction of professional staff. In addition, they maintained simple laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents. Fabiola also captured cells using silica bead and grew different cultures for different experiments.

Fabiola Louis has a Masters in Medical Microbiology from Long Island University and a Bachelors of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Hunter College.
