Adrian Smart

Adrian Smart is an experienced engineering and project management professional with a strong background in the rail and aerospace sectors. Currently serving as the Alliance Manager for the European Train Control System Project at Hitachi Rail since September 2018, Adrian leads a coalition to implement advanced digital signalling technology for South East Queensland. Prior to this role, Adrian held various leadership positions at Ansaldo STS, including Head of Construction for the Americas and Manager of Construction for Transportation Solutions in Asia Pacific. Adrian's extensive career also includes project management roles at Boeing Australia, where military aircraft modifications were overseen, and BAE Systems, focusing on mechanical engineering for military platforms. Adrian's engineering foundation was established at the University of Adelaide, culminating in a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
