Dimantha Gunawardana

Dimantha Gunawardana has extensive experience in the rail industry, currently serving as the Deputy Head of Global R&D and Head of Global Component Standardisation at Hitachi Rail since October 2014. Previously, Dimantha held multiple roles at Hitachi Rail, including Head of Systems Integration Engineering, Innovation Lead, and Deputy Head of Engineering, as well as Senior Systems Integration Engineer. Prior to joining Hitachi Rail, Dimantha worked at Bombardier Transportation as a Project Engineer from February 2010 to September 2014 and held positions at Tube Lines as a Contract Support Engineer and Graduate Engineer from February 2007 to January 2010. Dimantha earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Birmingham from 2002 to 2006, following education at Drayton Manor High School from 1996 to 2002.
