Ryuji Uchikado has been with Hitachi since 2001 and currently leads Hitachi Rail’s Digital and Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence. This newly established structure is central to accelerating digital transformation across the business and unlocking the full potential of digitalisation—both in customer-facing solutions and internal operations.
In his role, Uchikado-san is responsible for prioritising digital and AI initiatives that drive business growth, leading the execution of the Lumada strategy. He also oversees the integration of Hitachi Rail’s digital capabilities into a unified, high-impact organisation, working in close collaboration with Hitachi Digital, external partners, and the broader technology ecosystem.
With deep expertise in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, Uchikado-san brings a strategic vision that is instrumental in shaping the company’s future as a sustainable, digitally enabled business.
