Uche Onuora has a wealth of experience in the tech and business industries. Uche has worked for a variety of companies since 2004, most recently as a Venture Coach at Conestoga College since 2020. From 2015-2020, Uche was the Co-Founder and CEO of HITCH, an Education Technology start-up with a focus on an educational and vocational video platform for African schools. During this time, they were also a Teaching Assistant for BET 100 Essentials of Entrepreneurial Behaviour at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business at the University of Waterloo. From 2016-2018, Uche worked as a Consultant at Manulife, where they conducted market research for Wearable Device applications in Life and Health insurance. From 2008-2010, Uche was the Co-Founder and CEO of Flexfinity Media Ltd., a software applications and multimedia technology company. During this time, they oversaw Research & Development activities in Atlanta, GA, USA and Deployment & Operations in Abuja FCT, Nigeria. From 2007-2008, Uche was the Executive Director of Business Development & IT at Chitis Ltd., where they coordinated comprehensive business development efforts, including forging strategic alliances and designing new service concepts. From 2010-2011, Uche was a Strategy & Management Consultant at Sigwa Consult, where they were responsible for strategic and operational policies, plans, and processes development. From 2010-2011, Uche was a Project Lead/Consultant at Seina Marine Ltd. From 2006-2007, Uche was the IT Resource Personnel/NYSC Deployment at TLG Engineering Ltd., where they worked on a variety of IT-driven Projects. Finally, from 2004-2006, Uche was a Consultant/Project Implementation Officer at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (Minister's Office), where they were the lead IT & Strategy Consultant on the Project Report/Business Plan for the Abuja Technology Village (ATV).
Uche Onuora has a diverse educational background. Uche obtained a High School degree from Federal Government College, Enugu, Nigeria in 1995. Uche then went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems from Delaware State University between 1997 and 2001. In 2012, they completed an Executive Education program in Media & Entertainment at IESE Business School. Uche furthered their education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology from the University of Waterloo in 2016. Additionally, Uche has obtained two certifications: a Certified Management Consultant in Management from the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada) in 2016, and Technical Sales from the University of Waterloo in 2016.
