Lakia Ford

Director of Education at HJAHC

Lakia Ford has over 25 years of experience in Healthcare Management and recently assumed the role of the Director Of Education for Henry J. Austin Center (HJAHC). She previously served in the roles of Compliance Officer/Risk Manager, Board Governance Liaison, and Director of Primary Care, for HJAHC. Her responsibilities included overseeing, the implementation of and the annual submission to the following regulatory agencies; HRSA, PCMH, NCQA, FTCA, and Joint Commission. In September of 2020 Lakia developed, coordinated and implemented the organization’s first Advanced Nursing Education Nurse Practitioner Residency Program, which prepares new nurse practitioners in primary care for practice in community-based, underserved and rural settings.

Lakia received her master’s in Business Administration and Public Health from Savanah State University and a bachelor’s in Law and Justice at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. Lakia attended the Seton Hall School of Law, for Health and Hospital Law, and Healthcare Compliance. Lakia has also received extensive training in Healthcare State and Governance Regulatory guidelines, at the leading Healthcare law firm in Washington DC, Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP.
