Shemia Fagan

Shemia Fagan is an accomplished attorney and public servant with extensive experience in both legal practice and legislative roles. Since September 2015, Shemia has served as the Managing Partner at HKM Employment Attorneys LLP, focusing on employment disputes for working parents and small businesses. In addition, Shemia holds the position of Secretary of State for Oregon since November 2020 and has been a State Senator since January 2019. Previously, Shemia served as a State Representative from January 2013 to January 2017. Additional experience includes legal positions at Ater Wynne LLP, Fagan Law NW, LLC, and internships at various legal organizations. Shemia received a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and a B.A. in Philosophy/Religion from Northwest Nazarene University.
