Jim Whitaker

Jim Whitaker, FAIA, FDBIA, serves as a Partner and Director of Government and Alternative Project Delivery at HKS, Inc. since April 2011. Whitaker was the inaugural Chancellor of the College of Fellows at the Design-Build Institute of America from July 2019 to December 2023 and served on the Board of Directors for the Construction Industry Round Table from May 2020 to May 2023, focusing on improving the performance of the U.S. construction industry. Additionally, Whitaker held the position of Chairman of the Board at the Design-Build Institute of America in 2014 and was the National Director/VP of the Federal Center of Excellence at Skanska USA Building Inc. from April 2001 to April 2011. Whitaker earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
