Bart Strijker is a PhD student at TU Delft, focusing on flood risks in polders, specifically improving failure probability estimates of dikes. Bart has extensive experience as a researcher, monitoring drought-related risks at dikes and conducting various research projects, including the analysis of the 2021 floods in the Netherlands. In addition, Bart works as a consultant in flood risk management at HKV lijn in water, where responsibilities include risk and impact assessments and hydrological modeling. Bart has held key roles in organizations such as the NVRB and as a graduate research student at Rijkswaterstaat, and has served on advisory boards for student and professional societies. Education includes a Master of Science in Hydraulic Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from Delft University of Technology.
