Elizabeth Wilson has extensive experience in public policy and project management, currently serving as the Head of Central Assessment Project and Head of VAT Infrastructure Policy Design at HM Revenue & Customs since July 2020. In this role, Elizabeth focuses on enhancing VAT systems and leading VAT deferral initiatives in response to Covid-19. Prior to this, Elizabeth held various strategic positions at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, including Head of Digital Identity and Head of Director's Office, where efforts centered around digital identity policy and operational coherence. Elizabeth's earlier tenure at HM Revenue & Customs included roles as Senior Policy Advisor for Customs EU Exit legislation, Tax-Free Childcare, and Information Policy and Disclosure. Elizabeth began a career in policy advisory at the Department for Work and Pensions, leading the development of a new child maintenance scheme. Elizabeth holds a Diploma in Professional Policy-making Skills from King's College London and a degree in Classical Studies from the University of Nottingham.
