Justin Nyweide

Founding Partner & CIO at HMI Capital

Justin Nyweide is a Founding Partner, CIO and member of the Investment Committee since inception. Justin also sits on the Management Committee. Prior to HMI Capital, Justin served as a Principal at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) – Fixed Income, a $12+ billion credit-focused investment affiliate of KKR based in San Francisco. Prior to KKR, Justin worked at GTCR Golder Rauner, an $8+ billion private equity firm based in Chicago. He began his career in Leveraged Finance at Wachovia Securities.

Justin received an A.B. with Honors from Harvard University and competed for both the varsity swimming and varsity baseball teams. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and is a member of the Finance Committee of The Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR), a nonprofit based in Berkeley, CA. Originally from Chicago and a former San Franciscan, Justin now lives in Boston with his wife and three children.
