Gary Matz is an experienced civil engineer and project director with a robust background in transit and rail projects. Currently serving as Vice President and Senior Project Director at HNTB since April 2013, Gary has held leadership roles focused on business development, team building, and project delivery at several prominent firms, including TranSystems and AECOM. Significant projects include the Grand Central Terminal Leak Remediation for Metro-North Railroad, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Capital Program Planning, and the BART Earthquake Safety Program in San Francisco. With previous experience at Gannett Fleming and STV, Gary has managed complex infrastructure initiatives and has a solid foundation in civil engineering, holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Structural from Virginia Tech.
