Rick Martin

SVP, Clinical Operations & Chief Nursing Officer at Hoag Hospital

Rick Martin, Ed.D., M.S.N., R.N., has been Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Hoag Hospital since 1992. In this role, Dr. Martin oversees all nursing departments, as well as a variety of patient care services including the emergency care unit, perioperative services, pharmacy, care management, and respiratory care.

He previously served as Assistant Vice President of Specialty Care for Hoag. Prior to joining Hoag, Dr. Martin was Assistant Vice President of Patient Care Services at HCA Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, Virginia.

Dr. Martin is active on numerous nursing committees and boards, several of which were formed in response to the state and national nursing shortage. Dr. Martin is a member of ANA/California and the Association of California Nurse Leaders. At California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Martin is on the Advisory Board and Adjunct Faculty for the School of Nursing.
