Troy Ryan

Head Coach (national Women’s Team) at Hockey Canada

Troy Ryan has extensive work experience in the field of hockey coaching. Troy has held various positions at different organizations throughout their career. Since 2017, they have been associated with Hockey Canada, where they started as an Assistant Coach for the National Women's Team. Troy later became the Associate Head Coach and eventually the Head Coach for the National Women's Team. In 2020, they joined Dalhousie University as the Head Coach for the Women's Hockey team. Prior to that, they served as an Atlantic Canada Female Coach Mentor at Hockey Canada and Canadian Sports Centre Atlantic. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as the President, General Manager, and Head Coach for the Campbellton Tigers. Earlier in their career, they were the Head Coach at St. Thomas University and the General Manager and Head Coach for the Metro Marauders.

Troy Ryan's education history includes attending the University of New Brunswick, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree. Troy also attended Saint Mary's University, although the degree and field of study are unspecified. In addition, Troy obtained a Leadership Certificate from the University of New Brunswick in September 2019.

Hockey Canada

Hockey Canada is the national governing body for grassroots hockey in this country. The organization works in conjunction with the 13 provincial branches, the Canadian Hockey League and a number of associate member organizations in growing the game at all levels. Hockey Canada oversees the management of programs in Canada from entry-level to high performance teams and competitions, including world championships and the Olympic Winter Games. Hockey Canada is also Canada’s voice within the International Ice Hockey Federation.
