Caroline Hild Hakvåg Pettersen has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and engineering. Caroline Hild Hakvåg started their career in 2004 as a Staff engineer at the Norwegian Microarray Consortium at NTNU, where they managed the Affymetrix GeneChip System. In 2012, they joined NTNU as a Researcher, working on various projects related to gene-lipid interactions and the potential use of n-3 fatty acids in cancer treatment. Caroline Hild Hakvåg continued their research at NTNU as a Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on exploring lipolytic factors as potential targets for preventing and treating fat loss in cancer cachexia. In 2016, they became an Associate Professor at NTNU, conducting research on personalized diets and the potential anti-cancer effects of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Caroline then joined St. Olavs hospital, Trondheim University Hospital as a Researcher, where they investigated gene-lipid interactions in colorectal cancer and established a method for patient derived xenografts of colorectal cancer. In 2021, they joined Hofseth BioCare ASA as a Senior Laboratory Consultant, and in 2023, they began working at Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU) as a Senior Engineer, Laboratory coordinator, and Researcher. Caroline Hild Hakvåg Pettersen pursued their education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Caroline Hild Hakvåg completed a Candidata Scientiarium degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from 1999 to 2004. Afterwards, they continued their academic journey at the same institution, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Medicine from 2006 to 2012.
