Stephen Lawrence

Stephen Lawrence serves as Professor and Chair Emeritus of the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Hofstra University since February 2001, focusing on undergraduate education, professional astronomy research, and departmental administration. Prior experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University, conducting research on supernovae and light echoes, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Astronomy at Bowling Green State University. Lawrence also worked as a Postdoctoral Resident Astronomer at the Observatorio Astronomico Nacional in Mexico. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.S. in Astronomy from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Physics from the University of Chicago.
