Rupert Shiers is a highly experienced legal professional with extensive expertise in tax disputes, advisory, and risk management. Currently serving as a Partner at Hogan Lovells since June 2013, Rupert previously held the role of Partner at Herbert Smith Freehills from May 2011 to June 2013, continuing after the merger of Herbert Smith and Freehills. Prior to that, Rupert was a Solicitor and Partner at McGrigors from May 2004 to April 2011, which included the rebranding of KLegal, and also served as a Solicitor at KLegal from November 2001 to April 2004, working closely with KPMG's tax practice. Rupert began a legal career at Norton Rose Group as a Trainee Solicitor and later became a Solicitor in the tax department from September 1996 to November 2001, specializing in corporate and financing taxation. Rupert holds a BCL with 1st Class Honours from the University of Oxford and an MA in Law with 1st Class Honours from the University of Cambridge.
