Matthijs de Jong

Matthijs de Jong is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in education and operations management. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Industrial Engineering and Management at Hogeschool van Amsterdam since August 2009, Matthijs focuses on teaching Bachelor of Engineering students about optimizing technical processes and has taken on roles in coordinating part-time programs and examination committees. Prior to this, Matthijs held the position of Director of Operations at Balink Glas & Aluminium from March 2006 to October 2010, where responsibilities included structuring a rapidly growing organization and defining its mission and strategy. Matthijs also served as Plant Manager at Colbond B.V. from November 2001 to March 2006, overseeing the establishment and management of multiple plants. Matthijs earned a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology from 1978 to 1985.
