Pieter van Langen

Pieter van Langen has a diverse work experience in various roles and responsibilities. Pieter started their career at ECN as a Junior Researcher in Wind Energy, where they conducted research on blade design, contributed to international research projects, and managed the development of company courses.

Later, Pieter joined Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, where they held several positions. Pieter worked as a Senior Lecturer in Aviation, where they lectured, developed educational materials, supervised student groups, and led teams of educational staff. Pieter then became a Program Manager for Curriculum Development in the School of Technology, where they successfully renewed and innovated the Aviation study program and played a role in the accreditation process.

Pieter also worked as a Project Manager for the implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS) at the Faculty of Education. Pieter managed the functional and didactic implementation of the LMS as part of a university-wide program.

In their most recent roles at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Pieter served as an Information Manager & Head of IT for the Faculty of Education. Pieter provided management advice, led the faculty IT staff, matched IT policies with faculty demands, facilitated innovation in Technology Enhanced Learning, and managed Information Security & Privacy. Pieter also served as a Product Owner for the Digital Learning Environment, responsible for its operations and continuous development. Additionally, they were a Product Owner for Educational Data Infrastructure, responsible for the development of a cloud infrastructure for educational data analysis and research on data usage for educational quality enhancement.

Pieter van Langen's work experience spans a range of roles and responsibilities in both educational and research settings.

Pieter van Langen has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente, which they obtained from 2000 to 2006. Pieter also holds a Masterclass in Strategic Information Management from NCOI Opleidingen, completed in 2017-2018. Prior to that, they attended Coornhert Lyceum from 1994 to 2000, where they completed their Gymnasium (vwo) degree. In addition to their formal education, Pieter has obtained certifications such as the Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from the Scrum Alliance in 2020, and a certification in Didactiek voor HBO-docenten (Teaching Methodology for Higher Education Teachers) from the Centrum voor Nascholing Amsterdam in 2010.
