Jeffrey Lowenkron

Chief Medical Officer at HOLDING COMPANY OF THE VILLAGES, INC

As the Chief Medical Officer for The Villages Health (TVH), Dr. Jeffrey Lowenkron has embraced the notion of building America’s Healthiest Hometown. With more than two decades in practice, he believes health care should produce better outcomes at a lower cost for patients. His focus is on better quality of care and process improvement while always assuring that patients have a delightful experience every time they come in to The Villages Health.

Dr. Lowenkron has been helping The Villages Health to broaden the scope of specialty care services and build programs that patients want and need. This multi-specialty approach still keeps the patient at the center while the primary care physician coordinates care with specialists to ensure patients receive whatever medical care they need within The Villages Health system.

Dr. Lowenkron is actively involved in recruiting like-minded primary care and specialty care physicians from around the country to move to The Villages® to practice medicine the way they intended when they first went to medical school.

Before joining The Villages Health, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the USF Physician’s Group at University of South Florida and was Chair of the Department of Comprehensive Medicine from 2012 to 2015.

Prior to his time at USF, Dr. Lowenkron spent 17 years with Kaiser Permanente. Here he developed an understanding of the performance of a successful integrated health care delivery model.

After earning his bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and his Doctor of Medicine with honors from Creighton University School of Medicine, Dr. Lowenkron completed his residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital. In addition, Dr. Lowenkron received his master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University and attended the executive leadership program at Harvard University School of Business.
