Adriano Soares Koshiyama

Adriano Soares Koshiyama has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2015, they worked as a Data Scientist at SIEVE, where they developed pricing algorithms for ecommerce stores and created business reports for clients. In 2016, Adriano was a Quantitative Strategist Intern at Nomura, assisting with derivatives research and using computational statistics and machine learning methods. Adriano also worked as a Teaching Assistant during this time at University College London for their MSc in Financial Risk Management program.

Adriano continued their education at Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where they served as a Research Assistant and later as a Lecturer. In 2017, they worked as a Data Scientist at MindX, gaining further experience in the field. Adriano also took on the role of an Online Data Science Course Tutor and Content Creator at UCL during this time.

In 2018, Adriano had the opportunity to work as an Enrichment Scheme Student at The Alan Turing Institute and as a Machine Learning Quantitative Strategist Intern at Goldman Sachs. Adriano then joined UCL as a Research Assistant and later became a Research Fellow. Most recently, Adriano took on the role of Co-Chief Executive Officer at Holistic AI in 2020.

Adriano Soares Koshiyama completed their Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, from 2008 to 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Statistics, Machine Learning, and Optimization, at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro between 2012 and 2014. Later, they attended UCL from 2016 to 2020, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science, specializing in Computational Finance and Machine Learning.
