Margaret Strosser is a dedicated medical social worker with extensive experience in hospice care, currently serving at Holisticare Hospice since September 2015, where responsibilities include managing a caseload of approximately 40 patients and families, conducting assessments, and participating in interdisciplinary team meetings. Margaret has also instructed creative writing at PhillyCAM since July 2015. Margaret holds a Master’s degree in Clinical/Medical Social Work from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and a Master’s degree in Film from Columbia University, alongside a certification from the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. Margaret’s diverse background in media production further enhances a multifaceted approach to social work and community engagement.

Holisticare Hospice
Hospice is a type of care and a philosophy of care that focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill patient’s symptoms. These symptoms can be physical, emotional, spiritual or social in nature. Hospice care is provided to people that have a limited life expectancy and choose comfort and relief from pain and other symptoms. From its inception, the mission of Holisticare Hospice has been to ensure that end-of-life care envelops the patient, their caregivers, and their families with spiritual and physical comfort. Forgoing curative treatment and opting for a palliative approach allows hospice care to be provided where the patient lives, surrounded by family and friends with the support of experienced healthcare professionals.
