Hafsa B. Zahid

Hafsa B. Zahid has extensive experience in research, education, and entrepreneurship, currently serving as a Research Trainee at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital since May 2020, where studies focus on temporal interference nerve stimulation for prosthetic hands under Dr. Jan Andrysek. Hafsa also founded LittleMouse AI to assist small businesses in integrating artificial intelligence into their operations and leads coding education initiatives for BIPOC youth as the Coding in Colour & Coding4Change Lead Instructor at the Foundation for a Path Forward. Experience includes various teaching assistant roles at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia, contributing to courses in physics, programming, and data science. Previous roles include software development and research assistantship positions at notable institutes such as BC Children's Hospital Research Institute and the Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute. Hafsa holds a Bachelor of Science in Honours Physics and Computer Science from the University of British Columbia and is currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto.

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital. Our vision is to create a world of possibility for kids with disability.
