Coen Smits has extensive experience in scientific and engineering roles, currently serving as the Scientific Director of Reliability at Holland Innovative since September 2021. Prior to this position, Smits held various roles at Holland Innovative BV, starting as a Junior Product and Process Specialist and progressing to Sr. Product & Process Specialist until September 2021. Smits also worked as a Process Development Engineer at OTB Solar, focusing on the development of new PECVD deposition processes for solar cells from November 2008 to February 2010. Earlier academic contributions include a postdoctoral research position at RWTH Aachen University, where research centered on nanoelectronics with magnetic metals and insulators, and a PhD in solid state physics and magnetoelectronics from Eindhoven University of Technology, where studies were conducted from 2001 to 2005.
