Nick Zafiropoulos

Nick Zafiropoulos is a seasoned professional in the field of materials science and marketing, currently serving as the Director of Global Marketing Management for Advanced Energy Solutions at Hollingsworth & Vose since August 2023. Previously, Nick held multiple key positions at Aspen Aerogels from July 2008 to March 2023, including Director of New Ventures and Director of Battery Materials, where notable achievements included co-creating the Aspen Battery Materials entity, leading R&D efforts for high silicon-containing anode technology, and expanding laboratory facilities to support technological development. Nick began an academic career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a PhD in Chemistry and contributing to significant research in catalyst development and biodiesel production while also securing over $10 million in government-funded programs. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Mathematics from Knox College.
