Sam Bawden has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Currently, they serve as the Chair and Co-Founder of Constructing Excellence Essex since 2022. Prior to this, Sam was a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at Holmes & Hills, where they specialized in construction law. Sam handled various contentious matters such as payment disputes, defects, delay and disruption, and professional negligence. Additionally, they provided advice on non-contentious construction issues like building contracts and professional appointments. Before joining Holmes & Hills, Sam worked as an Assistant Solicitor and Trainee Solicitor, gaining experience in litigation and dispute resolution. Sam also worked as a Training Coordinator at The NonStop Foundation, coordinating a training program for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Sam began their career as a Research Assistant at The University of Sheffield.
Sam Bawden's education history begins in 1998 when they enrolled at The University of Sheffield. From 1998 to 2001, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. After completing their undergraduate studies, they joined The University of Sheffield once again in 2005. This time, they embarked on a Master of Arts degree in Law, which they successfully completed in 2007. Following their master's degree, Sam attended The College of Law from 2007 to 2009 to pursue a Legal Practice Course in Law.
