Jakob Bluhm

Jakob Bluhm has a diverse work experience history. Jakob started as a Marketing Intern at the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition in 2017, where they participated in on-site team projects and provided feedback on reaching millennials for music venues. Later that year, they served as the Philanthropy Chair for the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Drake University, organizing philanthropy events and coordinating participation in sorority philanthropy weeks.

In 2019, Jakob held several internships. Jakob worked as a Digital Marketing Intern at Intoxalock, a Marketing Analytics Intern at Protolabs, and an Information Technology Intern at The Weitz Company.

In 2020, Jakob joined Swiss Re as an Associate Mapping Analyst. Jakob verified and evaluated customer data, mapped it within company systems, and used Power BI to check for discrepancies.

Most recently, Jakob worked at Holmes Murphy & Associates. Jakob started as a Business Intelligence Analyst in 2021, where they evaluated business needs, conducted user testing for Power BI reports, and built dynamic reports for different lines of business. In 2022, they transitioned to a Data Engineer role and established company standards for using dbt, utilized dbt for creating business logic-focused marts, and maintained documentation through dbt YAML files.

Overall, Jakob Bluhm has gained experience in marketing, data analysis, business intelligence, and data engineering roles throughout their career.

Jakob Bluhm attended Homestead High School from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Core 40 with Academic Honors diploma. After completing high school, they enrolled at Drake University from 2016 to 2020. At Drake University, Jakob pursued a Bachelor's degree in Marketing with a Minor in Data Analytics and a concentration in Information Systems.

In addition to their formal education, Jakob has also obtained several certifications. In August 2018, they earned the Google Ads Fundamentals certification from Google. In February 2020, Jakob obtained the 15 Secrets Successful People Know About Time Management (getAbstract Summary) certification from LinkedIn. Lastly, in May 2020, they obtained the Google Analytics Individual Certification from Google.
