Mariana Uchoa

Mariana Uchoa, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Immunology at Holoclara Inc since October 2023. Previously, Mariana held the position of Associate Director at Karma Biotechnologies from April 2020 to October 2023, leading the Immuno-oncology program for the oncology-focused company. Additional experience includes roles as Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Scientist Immunologist at IndieBio, where Mariana was part of the IBSF Batch #14 in a startup accelerator environment. Prior academic contributions took place at the University of Southern California as a Neuroscience Graduate Scientist from 2014 to April 2020, alongside a fellowship at MedTech Innovator. Initial research experience began as an undergraduate researcher at LabDef and as a CNPq scholarship student at both Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and UCLA. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, with additional studies in an exchange program at UCLA.
