Matt Gurgel

Matt Gurgel is a Partner at Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP, a position held since February 2016, following previous experience as an Associate at the same firm. Prior to this, Matt served as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton from November 2010 to January 2016 and worked as a Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from September 2009 to September 2010. Matt's early career included service in the U.S. Navy from June 1994 to May 2005, achieving the role of Surface Warfare Officer and Nuclear Engineer. Matt holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School (2006-2009), a Master’s degree in National Security Affairs from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (1999-2001), and a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University (1990-1994).
