James Peck has over a decade of experience in mental health services, currently serving as Psychology Coordinator at Holy Angels Residential Facility since November 2015. Previously, James worked as a Licensed Psychological Associate at North Texas State Hospital, contributing to the care and rehabilitation of individuals in a multidisciplinary team setting. Roles as Rehabilitation Specialist at both Helen Farabee MHMR Center and Lubbock Regional MHMR Center focused on improving the independence and quality of life for individuals with severe mental illnesses. Earlier experience includes serving as Case Manager at Parkside Psychiatric Hospital and Clinic, overseeing utilization management for outpatient and inpatient services, and working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Stephen F. Austin State University. James holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from East Texas Baptist University.

Holy Angels
Today, Holy Angels offers residential services to approximately 185 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from more than 20 states. In 2012, Holy Angels expanded its mission to include a program that serves as a benefit not only to its residents, but also to individuals with disabilities from the Northwest Louisiana community who are seeking opportunities for meaningful work. The award-winning AngelWorks Day Program provides participants with work readiness training, job coaching, and job placement through its five enterprises: Business Services, Culinary Arts, Creative Arts, Horticulture and Holy Rhino Coffee, a partnership with the Shreveport-based company, Rhino Coffee. Holy Angels provides clients with a path to self-fulfillment through education, empowerment, independence and work. Some of the special amenities offered at Holy Angels include the Aquatic Center, “GREAT” equine therapy, exercise physiology, Holy Angels Choir, performing arts such as talent shows and Christmas and Easter pageants, Chapel, and special community outings to the symphony, opera and local theater. Holy Angels’ AngelCare services include occupational therapy, pet therapy, speech therapy and applied behavioral analysis. Relaxation and sensory stimulation are offered in a state-of-the-art SNOEZELEN room. Holy Angels is a true gem of the State of Louisiana. For more than 50 years the legacy of Bishop Greco and the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows has been sustained through prayer, hard work, love, and visionary leadership.
