Susan Work has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving as the CEO Emeritus of Holy Family Ministries from its founding until their retirement in late 2016. In this role, they were responsible for various aspects of the organization, including board-building and development, strategic direction, program management, fundraising, and financial oversight. Holy Family Ministries
Located in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago, Holy Family Ministries is a not-for-profit organization operating four programs: (1) Holy Family School (K-8, faith based); (2) Little Learners pre-school and childcare program; (3) Adventures in Learning after-school and summer program; (4) The Peace Exchange youth nonviolence training program. Families pay a fee based on income, approximately 25% of the full cost. Programs are offered “first-come, first-served” without regard to religion, race, previous academic achievement, or ethnicity.
