Chief Executive Officer at HOME

Karen O'Neill FRSA serves as the Chief Executive Officer at HOME since November 2023 and holds the position of Vice Chair at Theatre Porto since July 2023. As Chair of the Board of Trustees for Arts Catalyst since July 2021, O'Neill leads initiatives that connect art, science, and technology through various creative projects. From August 2022 to February 2024, O'Neill contributed as a Board Member at Hope Mill Theatre and co-chaired Lancaster Arts Partners until November 2023. O'Neill was the Chief Executive Officer/Director of The Dukes in Lancaster from August 2019 to November 2023, focusing on diverse programming and community engagement. Additional experience includes mentorship at Brathay Trust (2020-2022), directorship at Hudlets (2014-2019), and various roles at the University of Huddersfield Student Union and Kirklees Theatre Trust, where O'Neill helped lead strategic and operational efforts. A graduate of Liverpool John Moores University with a BA Joint Hons in Media and Cultural Studies and Screen Studies, O'Neill's career reflects a commitment to the arts and community development.

HOME is Manchester’s centre for international contemporary art, theatre and film. The two theatres show an exciting, eclectic mix of plays with an international focus. The five cinemas showcase the very best in contemporary and classic cinema. The gallery presents work by emerging and established artists. HOME also operates a restaurant, bar and bookshop.
