Richard Henderson has a long history of work experience in both the public and private sectors. Richard began their career in 1982 as a Junior Project Superintendent/Project Engineer at The Law Company. In 1983, they joined Gannett Fleming as a Project Engineer. In 1991, they moved to Fluor Daniel as a Project Manager for Infrastructure/Transportation Program Management. In 1994, they became the Publisher/CEO of Home Business Magazine, S-Type Corp., with the largest circulation in the home business market. In 1985, they joined the US Navy and served in various roles, including Chief of Staff, Commander Task Force Individual Augmentees, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. Navy Captain, Commanding Officer (CEO-Equivalent), Naval Forces Japan Headquarters Unit, Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer to Minnesota, Commanding Officer (CEO-Equivalent), Carrier Strike Group Augmentation Unit, Afloat Culture Workshop Facilitator, and Officer In Charge of Construction - Civil Engineer Corps. Richard'slast tour of duty ended in May 2015.
Richard Henderson obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut between 1978 and 1982. Richard then went on to receive a Master's in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach from 1989 to 1992. In 2012 and 2013, they attended the Joint Forces Staff College in Suffolk, VA and obtained a Master's of Science equivalent in Advanced Joint Professional Education (AJPME), which is equivalent to Operations Analysis/Organizational Development.
