Shoaib Shaikh

Dr. Shoaib Shaikh brings several years of experience from industry, academia, and entrepreneurship as Chief Data Scientist to Home Lending Pal (HLP). He’s an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and adaptive systems, having developed mission-critical AI systems for defense contractors such as Northrop Grumman, L3Harris, and Lockheed Martin. He’s also worked with multiple hedge fund startups in the FinTech space to develop and deploy predictive trading algorithms and consulted with startups in the commercial lending and technology domains. While in academia, Dr. Shaikh conducted research on autonomous vehicles (AVs), smart infrastructure, digital supply chains, and blockchain technology. He also mentored several engineering and technology teams, several of which have won entrepreneurship awards. His current research interests include responsible AI, natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning, blockchain, and quantum/edge computing. He holds a doctorate in Operations Research from Florida Institute of Technology, where he also received his master’s degree in System Engineering. Dr. Shaikh is fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi.
