Harpreet Singh

Harpreet Singh has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Harpreet started their career as a Software Developer Intern at AlphaNet Technologies Private Limited in 2010. Harpreet gained experience in requirement gathering and developed a testing tool during their internship.

In 2011, Harpreet joined Accenture in India as an Associate Software Engineer. Harpreet worked on a web application in the insurance domain, utilizing PHP, Java, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Harpreet also implemented test-driven development for coding optimal solutions.

From 2013 to 2014, Harpreet worked as an Assistant Professor at Global Institute of Management and Emerging Technologies. Harpreet taught fundamentals of computer programming, mentored students on projects, and delivered lectures and laboratory sessions.

In 2014, Harpreet joined Vaass Infotech Private Limited as a Software Engineer. Harpreet interacted with clients, wrote user stories for agile development, and worked with Java Spring, PHP, Laravel, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Harpreet also performed debugging and quality assurance tasks.

From 2017 to 2017, Harpreet worked on two research projects at the University of Ottawa. Harpreet maximized lane utilization in vehicular road traffic simulation scenarios using SUMO and worked on a research project on a software-defined networking protocol. Harpreet also utilized cross-OS interactions using WinSCP, Xming, and Putty for simulation scenarios.

In 2017, Harpreet gained experience as a Test Engineer (COOP) at Nokia. Harpreet worked on Node.js test automation in the Network Service Platform and modified test cases in the Mocha framework.

As a Freelance Web Developer from 2018 to 2019, Harpreet implemented a startup e-commerce web application in PHP Laravel and React. Harpreet also worked on API implementation for a restaurant ordering system using Node.js and Express.

From 2019 to 2019, Harpreet worked as a Web Developer at RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. Harpreet developed new features and bug fixes using PHP, Python, Node.js, and Express. Harpreet also made user interface modifications in Bootstrap, CSS, and JavaScript.

From 2019 to 2020, Harpreet worked as a Full Stack Developer at Evidence Partners. Harpreet worked on feature development in PHP and MySQL using Docker containers. Harpreet also worked on the front-end using Smarty templating engine, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, and third-party JS libraries. Harpreet wrote unit tests in PHPUnit and worked with Behat testing scenarios.

Currently, Harpreet is working at Homecare Hub as a Senior Full Stack Developer. Harpreet has optimized the existing code base and implemented new features in Laravel. Harpreet has also integrated payment gateways and implemented Avalara Tax APIs for the application.

Harpreet Singh completed their education in a chronological sequence. From 2007 to 2011, they attended Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology in Jalandhar, Punjab, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the same institute, completing it from 2012 to 2015.

Continuing their academic journey, Harpreet Singh enrolled at the University of Ottawa in 2016 and completed their Master of Computer Science degree in 2018. During their time at the University of Ottawa, they focused on the field of study in Computer Science.

Additionally, Harpreet Singh obtained a certification called "Reliability Status" from the Government of Canada in March 2022.
