Shyam Nagarajan

Shyam Nagarajan is a seasoned executive in risk management and compliance, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at HomeEquity Bank since October 2021, and previously held the role of Interim Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. With extensive experience at Scotiabank from June 2008 to October 2020, Shyam strengthened the Regulatory Compliance Management program and led significant internal audit initiatives across various divisions, including capital markets and treasury. Earlier roles include Vice President positions at DBS Bank and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, where Shyam focused on audit functions and risk management. A strong educational foundation includes a Master’s Degree in Quantitative Finance from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, complemented by a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Anna University Chennai.
