Cara Newman

Cara Newman is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as the Head of Structured Finance at Hometap since June 2023. Prior to this role, Cara held the position of Managing Director and Head of Structured Finance at Redwood Trust, Inc. from January 2018 to June 2023. Previous experience includes serving as Senior Corporate Counsel for Content Acquisition at Dish Network and holding the role of Vice President & Senior Legal Counsel in Global Asset Backed Finance at HSBC Global Banking and Markets. Early career positions include Associate at Mayer Brown LLP, Legal Intern at Fulbright & Jaworski, Extern for Hon. Milton I. Shadur, Law Clerk at Lawyers for the Creative Arts, and various roles at the Hinsdale Center for the Arts. Cara holds a JD from DePaul University College of Law and a BA in Political Science and Art History from Loyola University Chicago.
