Eric S. M. has extensive work experience in the banking industry, with a focus on information security, risk management, and operations. Eric S. started their career at Jefferson Federal Bank in 1996, where they served as the Director of Compliance & Internal Audit. Eric S. then progressed to the role of Vice President - Senior Operations Officer before becoming the SVP - Chief Information Officer / Chief Risk Officer, where they managed the Information Technology and Enterprise Risk Management areas of the bank. In 2014, Eric joined HomeTrust Bank as the Vice President - Information Security Officer, where they oversee the Cybersecurity and Information Security program, manages security controls, and participates in the governance processes of the organization's network architecture.

Eric S. M. obtained a MaCC degree in Accounting from East Tennessee State University from 1996 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed a BBA and MaCC degree in Finance and Accounting respectively, also at East Tennessee State University, from 1990 to 1992. In addition to their formal education, Eric has obtained multiple certifications in the field of information security and auditing. In 2016, they received the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA. In 2011, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification, also from ISACA. Lastly, in 2010, Eric earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2.
