Maura Thurman

Maura Thurman is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in journalism and media. As the Communications Coordinator at Homeward Bound of Marin since 2006, Maura has been instrumental in coordinating publications, marketing, and media outreach, while also contributing to grant writing and donor communications. Previous experience includes an editor position at United Press International from 1994 to 1996, where Maura collaborated with international reporters to plan and edit news stories, and a reporting role at Marin Independent Journal from 1984 to 1993, focusing on breaking news and local government reporting. Maura holds a B.S. in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and has further education from the University of California, Davis.
