John Prieto has had a diverse range of work experiences in the healthcare industry. Starting in 1999, they worked as a Staff Nurse at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton for eight years. In 2007, they transitioned to Hamilton Health Sciences, where they served as a Nurse Clinician and later became a Clinical Leader/Manager, overseeing the development and expansion of a paediatric mental health service. Moving on from there, they joined HNHB LHIN as a Health System Transformation Advisor in 2014, where they played a key role in implementing integrated clinical programs and improving various aspects of the healthcare system. In 2015, John founded JPLB Consulting, a company that provided program consultation for different health systems and companies. During this time, they also worked as a Quality Improvement Specialist and Legal Nurse Consultant. In 2017, they joined Niagara Health as a Program Manager for Mental Health, and in 2020, they became the Director of Clinical Support Services, Policy, & Projects at Homewood Health Centre. John's expertise lies in program development, quality improvement, and clinical leadership in the mental health field.
John Prieto has a Master of Health Management (MHM) degree in Healthcare Leadership from McMaster University, which they obtained from 2011 to 2014. John also holds a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and a minor in Psychology from McMaster University, completed from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, John has certifications in Legal Nurse Consulting from RN Legal Experts, Advanced Quality Improvement from Ideas Ontario, and Lean Green Belt from eZsigma, although the specific years of completion for these certifications are not provided.
