Mike Chu, CFA

Mike Chu, CFA is an experienced technology executive and startup advisor with over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mike is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Homium, and prior to this they were the SVP Engineering at Peridot Financing Solutions. Mike also co-founded Recap Investing in 2019. Before this, Mike worked as an Independent Consultant advising early stage startups and pursuing research projects in FinTech, Portfolio Analytics, and Machine Learning. Mike started their career at Bloomberg LP, where they held multiple roles over the course of 10 years, including CTO and Co-Head of Bloomberg Indices, Engineering Team Lead for Portfolio & Risk Analytics, Senior Software Engineer for Portfolio & Risk Analytics, and Software Engineer for Equity Tradebook. Prior to joining Bloomberg LP, they worked as a Software Engineer at Seiko Epson Corporation in Japan and as a Research Intern at the University of Toronto.

Mike Chu, CFA holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with specializations in Management, Marketing and Operations and advanced coursework in Finance from The Wharton School. Mike also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Engineering Science with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto. In addition to their educational achievements, Mike Chu, CFA has certifications in Avalanche Safety Training (AST) 1 & 2 from Yamnuska Mountain Adventures, Wilderness First Responder (Advanced First Aid) from Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine Inc., and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute.
