Gina Destefano

Research Associate at Homology Medicines

Gina DeStefano is a Research Associate at Homology Medicines, Inc. since January 2019, with previous experience as Manager of Research and Development at UrSure, Inc. where Gina developed a lateral flow immunoassay for monitoring adherence to the HIV medication PrEP. Prior research includes work at the University of Massachusetts Amherst examining the gene ROCK2's role in endothelial cell migration for potential drug therapy, and as a Research Trainee at Brigham and Women's Hospital focusing on T lymphocyte mediated pathology in immunology. Gina holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Microbiology, Applied Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as well as a Dual Doctor of Optometry and Master's in Public Health from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, expected in May 2024.
