Jason Wright has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. Jason began their career in 1993 as a Wildland Firefighter at the California Conservation Corps, where they assisted in firefighting efforts in San Diego County and provided emergency relief after the 1994 Los Angeles earthquake. Following this, they joined the US Army as an Airborne Ranger in the Infantry division, serving from 1995 to 1999. In 2004, they worked as a Laboratory Manager at Massachusetts General Hospital before moving on to a role as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Broad Institute in 2011. During their time at the Broad Institute, they conducted research on the genetic mechanisms of complex disease risk and aging. Jason also worked on the development and application of biological engineering tools under the mentorship of Dr. David Altshuler and Dr. Feng Zhang. Since 2016, they have been a Senior Director of Molecular Biology and Genomics at Homology Medicines.
Jason Wright completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences at Brandeis University from 2000 to 2004. Jason then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Genetics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, completing it from 2005 to 2011.
