Juan Camilo Zapata Tinoco

Juan Camilo Zapata Tinoco has a strong background in software engineering and management. Juan Camilo is currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Honey Insurance, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they held the same position at Airtasker from January 2023 to April 2023, and at Swyftx from March 2022 to December 2022.

Before transitioning into management roles, Juan Camilo worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Platform Manager at News Corp Australia from June 2015 to March 2022, where they played a crucial role in developing and maintaining the platform that powers all main Newscorp Australia websites.

Juan Camilo has also served as a Technical Lead at Noise Birds Digital from July 2013 to June 2015 and at Community Engine from February 2012 to July 2013. Juan Camilo began their professional career as a Lead Developer at Ziller from November 2010 to February 2012, followed by a role as Lead Developer at Websalad from August 2008 to November 2010.

Juan Camilo's career started at IT-GROUP as a Lead Developer and Project Manager from February 2005 to January 2008, where they gained a solid foundation in software development and project management.

Juan Camilo Zapata Tinoco has a Bachelor's degree in High School, which they obtained from Gimnasio de los Cerros from 1988 to 2000. Juan Camilo then pursued further education and earned a BS Systems Engineer degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana between 2001 and 2006. Juan Camilo continued their studies at Macquarie University from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Post-graduate Diploma in System Security. In addition, they hold a certification as a Certified Scrum Master, which they obtained from Scrum Alliance in October 2016.
