Stephanie Lau

Stephanie (Step) Lau is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate finance and regulatory matters. Currently serving as Managing Director and Co-Head of IPO Vetting at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) since September 2016, Stephanie has previously held the position of Senior Vice President in Listed Issuer Regulation within the same company. Prior to HKEX, Stephanie was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis, advising major investment banks and corporations on a range of corporate finance transactions, including Hong Kong IPOs and mergers. Stephanie began her career as an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates and trained as a solicitor at Stephenson Harwood & Lo. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) from The University of Hong Kong, in addition to a Professional Certificate in Chinese Civil & Commercial Law from Tsinghua University.
