Chief Architect at Honkarakenne

Anne Mäkinen has had a diverse range of roles and experiences in the architecture field. Anne is currently the Chief Architect at Honkarakenne, starting in March 2018. Prior to this, Anne served as the Chief Executive Officer at their own architecture firm, Arkkitehtitoimisto Anne Mäkinen Oy, from February 2012 to March 2018. Anne also held the same role at Arkkitehtitoimisto Anne Mäkinen Tmi from May 2010 to February 2012. Earlier in their career, Anne was the Chief Executive Officer at Arkkitehdit AM&AM Oy from January 2005 to May 2010.

Anne Mäkinen's education history begins in 1987 when they enrolled at LAB University of Applied Sciences to study Interior Design. Anne completed their studies there in 1988. In the following year, from 1988 to 1999, Anne attended Tampere University where they pursued a Master of Architecture - MArch degree with a focus on Architectural Design. Additionally, in 1991 and 1992, they briefly studied at the University of Helsinki where they explored their interest in Art History. Lastly, in 1994 and 1995, Anne spent a period at KTH Royal Institute of Technology studying Architecture, though a specific degree was not mentioned during this time.
