Dr. John Bowles PhD, RN, CENP has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the healthcare field. Dr. John is currently serving as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at John C. Lincoln Medical Center under HonorHealth since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at VCU Health as the Associate Vice President and Associate Chief Nursing Officer from November 2018 to August 2021. Additionally, Dr. Bowles has held the position of Professor of Practice at Arizona State University College of Nursing & Health Innovation from November 2014 to July 2020. Dr. John also served as a faculty member in the Executive Fellowship in Innovation Health Leadership (EFIHL) program from August 2017 to August 2019.
Dr. Bowles' early work experience includes various leadership roles at Yuma Regional Medical Center, where they served as the Administrative Director of Nursing Operations from November 2015 to November 2018. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Post Surgical Care Units Tower 4&5 from January 2014 to November 2015, and Director of 3W Observation Unit and Rapid Admissions Unit from October 2002 to January 2014. In this role, they successfully managed clinical operations and implemented process improvement plans to enhance patient care and improve overall patient throughput.
Dr. John Bowles has a diverse education background. Dr. John completed their Associate's Degree in Nursing at Arizona Western College from 1995 to 1999. Dr. John then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the University of Phoenix from 2003 to 2005. Afterwards, they obtained a Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005-2006. In 2008 to 2013, Dr. John Bowles completed their PhD in Vulnerable Populations from the University of Arizona.
