Matthew Gelhard

Matthew Gelhard currently serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications at Hood College, where responsibilities include overseeing sports information for 23 NCAA-sponsored teams and managing a team of graduate assistants and student workers. Previous experience includes a strategic communications internship at Penn State University, focusing on media relations and gameday operations, and roles as a sports anchor and freelance writer for various organizations. Matthew has also contributed to media initiatives for Happy Valley United, served as a play-by-play broadcaster for ComRadio, and engaged with the Big Ten Network as a talent statistician. Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State University and a prior degree in Communication, Journalism from Penn State Mont Alto.
