Arjan Smits

Arjan Smits is an experienced professional in the agricultural and environmental sectors, currently serving as a fundraiser and project coordinator at Stichting Plenty Food Nederland since March 2017, and as a general board member. In May 2023, Arjan began contributing as a commission member at Waterschap Delfland, advising on water quality and quantity for the Party for the Animals. Previous roles include being a cultivation specialist at Biological YoungPlants, assisting management at Noordam Plants, and serving as a cultivation specialist at Van der Voort Potplanten B.V. Early career experience includes working as a social forestry officer with the Lam Dong Forestry Research Centre and VSO Nederland, alongside research roles at Wageningen University & Research. Arjan holds a Master's in Tropical Forestry and a Bachelor's in Forest and Nature Management from Wageningen University & Research and Van Hall Larenstein University, respectively.
